Sun Orchard was founded in Tempe, AZ in 1984. The Company was formed with the intention of adding additional value to a packing-house operation and finding a healthy, valuable use for citrus fruit that was not quite attractive enough for the shelves at the produce counter. Though it was not eye-appealing enough for the grocery stores, it was wonderful for a fresh-squeezed juice operation. Throughout the 1980's, Sun Orchard's customer base grew gradually from its local activities in Arizona to the Coast of California. With limitations such as short shelf life, distribution challenges and a finite amount of financial resources, the Company focused primarily on food service and some private label retail opportunities.

In an effort to utilize the freshest fruit for our juice operation, in 1992 the company purchased the land and building to open a seasonal bulk-juice-extraction facility in Central California (Strathmore). With the ability to balance the Arizona and California fruit seasons, Sun Orchard's customer base and distribution capability began to grow. In mid-1995, the President and CEO, along with a private investor, bought the Company from its previous owner. At that time, these two individuals established the Vision and Mission Statement for our organization. With these re-defined values and additional financial resources, the Company grew dramatically over the next few years, serving customers throughout the Western United States, from Southern California to Western Canada, and as far east as Chicago, south to Texas.

To properly serve our ever-growing national account base and to add the largest citrus growing state in the country to its source of raw materials, Sun Orchard bought 28 acres and a fully operational citrus-juice- and fruit-processing facility at the beginning of 1999 in Central Florida (Haines City). Over the next five years, our business grew dramatically, with the securing of many national and regional restaurant, hotel, and foodservice distribution accounts. This expansion took Sun Orchard into all of the major metropolitan areas, drastically broadening our distribution capabilities and efficiencies.

Our history is deeply rooted in the citrus business, and we have utilized this excellent foundation for developing beverages that are the perfect compliment to our citrus juice foundation.
