citrus fruit from every major citrus- producing
region in North America, from California to Florida
and south to Mexico. Our Fruit Procurement Department
closely monitors the development of every citrus
crop in each growing region from bloom to harvest,
assuring a steady supply of fresh oranges, tangerines,
lemons, grapefruit, and limes harvested at peak
maturity for processing into quality premium
juices.
In Arizona, we source Valencia oranges from
the sun-splashed desert during the spring and
from California during the summer and fall.
Western-grown Valencia oranges produce an exceptional
juice with a dark orange color and robust orange
flavor. During the winter months, we process
Arizona Sweet oranges and Fairchild tangerines
from our local farmers in the Valley of the
Sun. Our grapefruits are primarily sourced from
local Arizona farmers, although we use some
from California and Texas on occasion to produce
our premium Ruby Red grapefruit juice. Our lemons
come from the desert areas in the winter and
spring and from the California coast and central
valley during the summer and fall. We use only
“true” lemon varieties such as Lisbon,
Eureka, and Escondido to produce our premium
lemon juice.
In Florida, we source Hamlin, Pineapple and
Valencia oranges from some of the best-managed
groves in the state. These sweet orange varieties
ripen at different times over the course of
the season, allowing us to process premium-quality
oranges at our Florida facility from October
through June in a typical year. The Florida
orange varieties produce a sweeter, lighter-orange juice preferred by East Coast consumers.
Our Florida Ruby Red and Pink grapefruit are
harvested at the peak of maturity and come primarily
from the world-famous Indian River growing region.
Sun Orchard sources limes from the Veracruz
region on the gulf coast of Mexico where climatic conditions are ideal for growing limes
and other tropical fruits. The combination of
warm, humid days, cool nights, plentiful rainfall,
and rich volcanic soil, together with modern
cultivation practices add up to the world’s
best limes. We use only Persian and Tahitian
varieties to produce our premium lime juice.
All of our citrus fruit is processed using state-of-the-art equipment set up with “soft-squeeze”
premium juicing components to produce the finest
quality juices possible.
